4/23/03 On Turning 30
it should be pretty obvious that this site has been inactive for a while.

initially, i was too busy working on project after project after project after project. but after a family emergency and an escape to hawaii, my perspective on city living has changed. i'm much less about seizing opportunities and making wild nights with new friends. instead, i'm nesting and favoring one on ones (over group excursions) and even alone time for reading.

i've put some energy in LESSONS FROM THE BUDDHA, my new blog that works against modern day amnesia offering reminders of current events and analysis along with discoveries that help me through life.

NONOGRIL RADIO will eventually be a real site with links and reviews to good audio on the web.

i am cautiously working on projects so email me if you want to be on my list. on may 20th, i'll be moderating a panel for KEARNY STREET WORKSHOP'S WAR + SILENCE exhibit. the panel features painter RICK GODINEZ, poet SHAILJA PATEL, editor for colorlines TRAM NGUYEN, and academic HELEN ZIA.

since i never made a links section for this site, i'll sign off with a list of sources of INSPIRATION . as the beautiful and creative resistance i saw in response to the war subsides with the recent loss of a friend and looming layoffs, lord knows we all need some.
